Ntv issues cease-and-desist letter
The news channel Ntv has issued a cease-and-desist declaration with penalty clause to the Israeli security company GCI Group Ltd. The president of CGI Group Ltd. is Jacob Perry, former head of the Israeli domestic intelligence service “Shin Bet” and former member of the Knesset. The background to this is the assertion of untrue factual claims about CGI in a report on the channel’s online portal on 4 September 2025. In the report, Ntv claimed that the Hamburg public prosecutor’s office accused CGI of involvement in the abduction of the two minor children of Christina Block, heiress to the “Blockhaus” , and that this accusation was also the subject of the indictment.
Zvika Nave, CEO of CGI Group Ltd., said: “Ntv has made untrue and defamatory allegations about our company. We have clearly and unequivocally denied any involvement in the abduction and are taking decisive action against the untruthful reporting concerning CGI Group and its legal representatives.”
Norman Nathan Gelbart, Managing Partner at Gelbart Legal: “The disputed reporting by Ntv contradicts all principles of serious journalism. Criminal allegations are being made against our client without having researched them in accordance with the journalistic guidelines set out in the Press Council’s code of ethics. We regret that Ntv made these allegations without apparently even looking at the indictment.”
Ntv has since completely deleted the disputed article from its website.
